New Moon Astrological Weather Report Dec - Endings & Beginnings 2022

Updated: Dec 24, 2022

This past week or so we’ve collectively experienced a number of great shifts in energies and awakenings that will set the tone for the times ahead.

Astrology provides an incredible portal into how to work with the cosmic energies that are happening in our world. To streamline our energies and attention into our own lives and live with greater alignment with the themes are presenting themselves. You can guarantee that the themes you are experiencing personally, are being activated and reflected by the stars and beyond.

Channeled message:

Resistance to what is happening in our lives is exhausting. Coming into acceptance with it, often provides the outcome of what we were intending at the point of resistance, but acceptance offers another perspective and approach that releases the tension. In doing so we can reclaim our energy and focus with greater clarity, peace and resolution.

What are you resisting that is really asking for your acceptance?

How might acceptance feel in your body?

If you knew it could feel better, would that incentivize you?

The idea of going to war with something has proven time and time again only brings about more pain and suffering. As we move into a number of new energetic signatures in the coming months and years - we will be learning new ways to navigate how to live with ourselves, each other and in the world at large.

Energy Guide Dec 2022:

Here is a brief guide to some of the current energies we are working with and amongst and some suggestions on how to move through them.

Dec 20th - May 16 2023: Jupiter enters Aries. Consider what was being ignited in your life May 10th 2022 - October 28th 2022.

Jupiter is the planet of expansion, growth, abundance, wherever Jupiter is it wants to expand it.

Aries The Ram is Cardinal Fire. Aries carries the archetype of the Warrior, the Pioneer, the Daredevil, the Survivor, initiator, Confronter. Aries needs a battle /purpose - if not constructive will be destructive.

Keyword: I Am.

Governs: Head, brain, eyes, muscles

Jupiter in Aries is like an explosion. You may have felt the shift in energy from Jupiter in Pisces which held more of a dreamy tone to expansive action.

We feel the initiation of individualized action with courage, a fire is light from within.

The last time Jupiter was in Aries was: June 12 to September 9 2010, and January 23 to June 4 2011. Consider what themes were present back then. Jupiter will be revisiting the same life-areas.

What has been ignited for you? Can you tend to it with grounded awareness and mindfulness?

Using a resource from Dark Star Astrology, here’s a little reflection to use for how the energy of Jupiter in Aries influenced the collective.

Dec 21st - Happy Winter Solstice and Sun Enters Capricorn.

Winter Solstice is the original New Year, not January 1st. This is the longest and darkest night of the year and we celebrate the beginning of the return of the light and new life beginning.

An invitation to reflect on what this past year has been for you, what have you learned, how have you grown, what wisdom are you bringing forth?

What are you releasing and leaving behind?

What dreams and desires are stirring within you for the coming year?

Capricorn Season - The New year begins and ends with Capricorn season.

Capricorn is a Cardinal Earth. Qualities include: Self starter, initiator, pioneer, forceful, ambitious, opportunistic, authoritative, practical, grounded, integrity, dependable, loners, service, goal orientated, master builder, maintaining patience, knowing process is key.

Capricorn archetypes include: The hermit, the father, the prime minister, the business head of the zodiac, leadership, conservative, elder, wisdom keeper.

Keywords: I Use.

Governs knees, skeleton, teeth.

When I think of Capricorn, my Sun sign, I think about legacy, honoring ancestral wisdom and bringing that wisdom forward as a means of honoring our ancestors and continuing the sacred work that we came here to do. One of the highlighted qualities of Capricorn for me is integrity.

Some reflections to consider in these times are:

Am I in integrity with my own self, with what I am building?

With how I am in relationship / partnership with and to others.

Am I taking responsibility for myself in an accountable way? Do I have someone who can hold me lovingly accountable?

As a metaphor, who’s mountain am I climbing, can I focus on climbing my own and invite others who align with my core values co-create and collaborate with me.

What are my core values? For my personal life? For my professional life? Can I use these as a active guidance system to navigate my daily decisions and my energy?

Capricorn takes responsibility seriously and can often feel burdened by taking on the responsibility of others, the world, this is where we can get stuck. The invitation is to notice where we do this, how we do this, does it support others in doing what they came here to do or does it take away the opportunity for growth and healing? Does it distract me from my own healing and growth?

How can I put down what doesn’t belong to me and pick up what does with compassion and kindness.

Dec 23rd - New Moon in Capricorn. Set and Anchor your Intentions.

Ritual suggestion:

Create a playlist or use this one I created for my own New Moon Ritual:

Light a candle, burn some incense or palo santo, sage

Create an Altar with items that call you to you.

Bring your journal and pen.

Take 5-10 mins to meditate or focus on your breathing, to simply come into the present moment with your body and breath. Set the intention to create spaciousness around you and within you.

Follow the natural pattern of your breath for several breaths with your eyes closed if it feels safe to do so. As you are ready, see if you can make your exhale longer than your inhale for several breaths.

As you are ready, imagine yourself feel rooted into the earth below you, send roots like a tree into the earth and spread them far, deep and wide.

As you feel yourself arrive at the center of Mother Earth, offering gratitude and appreciation for all that she provides. Take a few moments to do this.

Using your breath bring your attention up from the center of the earth, up through your strong roots and into the soul’s of your feet and into your heart space. Imagine sending branches, similar to your roots up through the crown of your head and intent to connect with your Soul Star. Spread your branches here, far and wide, offer gratitude and appreciation here for the support and guidance your receive, take a few moments and breaths here.

Then as you are ready bring your awareness back into your heart, intent to anchor and root here in your heart, in your body, take a few moments to offer gratitude and appreciate here. As you are ready, take several deep breaths, wiggle your toes, fingers, gently stretch your body and open your eyes.

Oracle card draw for the New Moon: I’m using my new favorite New Moon Oracle Deck - Rewilding the Feminine by the Beloved Meghan Field and Tania Meacher.

In your journal, as a stream of consciousness, reflect on each of these cards and simply write what intuitively comes in response.

When you’ve completed, notice if an intention for the New Moon arrives from your writing, write this down also.

As you're ready, come to a standing position and the invitation is to speak your intention out loud, then anchor your intention through any kind of movement that feels true in this now moment. Remember, you can’t do it wrong.

Dec 23rd: Chiron Stations direct in Aries.

Chiron stationed retrograde in July 2022 until Dec 2022

Chiron is the wounded healer, the teacher, the student.

Chiron is a centaur, and the myth goes that Chiron was abandoned at birth and left to fend for itself. It was through this wound of abandonment and difficult upbringing that it was able to rise up and turn its wounds into powerful portals of healing.

It was Chiron’s wounds that paved the way for its role as a powerful healer, teacher, psychic, and philosopher. This is why Chiron is referred to as the wounded healer.” Forever Conscious article.

Aries as we know from above is the warrior, the initiator.

Since July we have been working with identifying our wounds, acknowledging them and coming into greater acceptance so we can bring forward the wisdom these wounds have to offer. As Chiron moves forward we begin to do exactly that. Virginia Rosenberg writes “ Claim your energy and agency”

Is there something that you can identify that this brings to mind as your theme for this year?

Dec 29th - Season 4: Mercury stationing retrograde in Capricorn. Mercury is currently in its pre-retrograde shadow as of Dec 12th 2022 at 8 degrees and will leave its shadows February 6th 2023 at 24 degrees of Capricorn. See here for more information on Mercury Retrograde and how it can be supportive. Mercury Retrograde resource
