Welcome to the first official Astrological Cosmic Weather report for this month of mid July leading into August.
So let me start by saying, I’m focusing on the latter part of this month and moving into August because its current energy and its pretty big and challenging astrology. You may already be feeling the energy building. I don’t say that to scare you just to be prepared so we can each do what we need to navigate it in the best possible way.
Firstly, since Astrology speaks to patterns, cycles and “soul seasons” a term coined by my beloved friend, Qoya Sistar and shamanic Astrologer Jaime Fleres, I’d like to invite you into a quick reflection.
How are you feeling after last month’s lunation (New Moon and Full Moon)?
What themes have been present for you?
For me it's been all about relationships, with myself and with others, becoming aware of the underlying foundations of these relationships and the dynamics that play out, cultivating clear boundaries for myself, the deprogramming of patriarchal systems that have been and are operating unconsciously within me and in relationship to others and my work. This has been mostly highlighted with male figures in my life - former and current. Also the deconstructing of these structures that once held me tightly into the overdoing and then finding new ways of being that feel more in flow and in alignment with the ways that feel more balanced, harmonious and sustainable.

Note: How we interpret these themes will require us to step outside of the box of our usual understanding and interpretation for the purpose of growth and evolution. If we choose.

July 13th, we had a full moon in the sign of Capricorn - the elder, Wise one, hardworking, enterprising, responsible, conservative conjunct (joins with) Pluto, the lord of the underworld, planet of transformation, power, death and rebirth.
This full moon was about getting re- resourced, taking responsibility, doing the necessary work and knowing your limits and putting those limits in sustainable perspective. Pluto was activating intensity and a purging effect that may have unearthed subterranean/ unconscious themes that came to the surface for conscious awareness.. The invitation was to re-instigate self care routines, slow down, take personal responsibility and accountability for what's yours, maturation with tenderness.
As we journey towards this upcoming New Moon and the surrounding astrological weather, this quote keeps coming up for me to share:

July 26th - Mercury in Leo squares Mars in Taurus
Speedy planet Mercury (the ruling planet of Gemini and Virgo) known as the communicator, the messenger and megaphone of the zodiac, who is currently in Leo ( heart centered, wants to have fun, can have a tendency to shy away) makes a square ( meaning competes, creates tension, conflict) to Mars ( ruling planet of Aries) who’s currently in the sign of Taurus ( slow, sensual, steady, determined, stubborn, fixed). Mars is the Warrior planet of action, assertiveness, expenditure of energy, this energy can be constructive or destructive.
Meaning: This is the beginning energy of what's coming together moving forward into the next few weeks and beyond. Slow down your thinking processes, consider meditation practices, stream of consciousness writing that will help you become aware of your rapid thoughts at this time and the need to assert your opinions with a strong need to be right that may come across as argumentative, which will only add fuel to your fire and the other. Channel this energy into conscious practices and empty out unveiling deeper awareness’s and inner healing.
July 27th - Mercury in Leo Trines Chiron in Aries (currently retrograde - appears to be moving backwards, think review, reflect, revaluate)
Mercury the messenger / megaphone in heart centered, prideful Leo trines (supportive aspect) with Chiron the wounded healer/teacher in Aries the Warrior, the initiator, think life force energy and fire.
Meaning: The invitation is around forgiveness, healing words to self and others.
July 28th New Moon In Leo
This week's New Moon in Leo occurs on July 28th 2022 at 5 degrees 38’ at 12:45pm CST / 18:45 pm BST, is an invitation into sovereignty, open heartedness, courage and surrender.
This New Moon in Leo is being influenced by the Sun and Mercury who are both in Leo, creating a stellium, which is where 3 or more planets are in the same sign, this amplifies the energy here and also of the opposite sign of Aquarius who’s qualities include humanitarian, non-conforming, futuristic, progressive, community. Saturn is the planet currently in Aquarius, who is the grandfather of the zodiac, representing the patriarchy, life lessons and limits, structures and systems.
Meaning: The invitation here is where are you afraid to be seen? What is your unique destiny that you came here to fulfill? How are you evolving from who you are into who you are becoming? How are you being in sustainable service to self and the other? Become the heart leader of your own life, in doing so we support the greater collective from a heart centered place and not from a place of fear and lack. Consider sustainable structures that supports the all, utilizing matriarchal energies.
July 28th Jupiter in Aries stations retrograde at 8 degrees of Aries until November 23rd
Jupiter is the planet of vision, growth edge, expansion, abundance, operates on a spiritual level, transformation stations retrograde ( appears to go backwards - think review, re-evaluate, reflect)
Meaning: According to cafe astrology - “Jupiter expands our awareness of our personal courage and enterprising nature. Jupiter in Aries encourages us to embrace the inner pioneer, believe in ourselves, and make our own opportunities.” When in retrograde, there is an invitation to go inward, pioneer the inner necessary work with courage to heal so we can fully initiate ourselves into our truest potential. Chani Nicholas shares that Jupiter in aries is much like that of a prescribed forest burn, clearing the way for new growth, fertility and abundance.
July 28th Mercury in Leo squares Uranus in Taurus ( the 2nd square mercury makes)
So we already talked about the qualities of Mercury in Leo above but I’ll copy and paste here for convenience:

Taurus is practical, slow and steady, determined, simplicity and sustainability.
Uranus holds lightning energy. Astrologer Rick ‘Merlin’ Levine shared that lightening releases energy that is stored or pent up, you don’t know when, where or how it will strike. So whatever is holding the most tension, Uranus is going to be drawn there, and wherever and whatever it is, we may or may not be aware of it. Uranus does not like to be held back, consider Uranus’s key words above. Expect the unexpected is very much a Uranian phrase.
Meaning: Be aware of how and what you communicate, with this energy we may say things we’ll regret saying. One of the biggest challenges with human relationships is communication. What we say, what we hear, what we give, what we receive, what we do is a vast cauldon of interpretation, based on what we are arriving into that relationship/conversation with - our lived experience healed and unhealed. Practice pausing and patience, be aware of stubbornness or refusal to change what you know deep down needs to change. What you resist persists with increased intensity. Go with the flow of what needs to go in the name of creativity, sustainability and simplicity - this within itself can be REvolutionary, radical and liberating. Reflect on your immediate environments and also the collective for relative themes. Macro/micro.
July 31st Mercury in Leo opposes Saturn in Aquarius (currently retrograde)
Meaning: Be honest with yourself and others in all your communication
July 31st - August 1st -Uranus in Taurus 18 degrees + North Node in Taurus 18 degrees + Mars in Taurus 17 /18 degree conjunction
Uranus in Taurus planet of revolution, disruption, liberation, change, freedom, awakener, rebel, radical, eccentric Uranus & Taurus the bull is practical, slow and steady, determined, simple and sustaining earth energy.
North Nodes & South Nodes ( the lunar nodes) - these are points in the sky where the sun and the moon cross paths. This is where Eclipses happen a couple of times a year. These are points of destiny or fate. The North node in astrology points to our future, what we are growing into, our soul journey and direction in life. The south node points to our karmic past life, where we come from, where we typically operate from - our comfort zone and what is most familiar.
Eclipses are pivotal points in astrology because they activate new cycles and beginnings, irreversible and radical change that moves us out and into a new way of being. The effects of eclipses last and set the tone for several months ahead and beyond.
With the North node being in Taurus and the South node being in Scorpio we work with these opposing energies and any other planets that are close by will activate and add another layer of those signs and planets energy to an already pretty charged up point of opening up the past as a pathway to the future.
According to Rick Levine, this conjunction will set the tone for the next 15 years, since that's how long it takes for the North Node to line up again with Uranus.
Adding explosive Mars into the mix, increases the heat and pace of how things will unfold. Watch for this type of energy both physically and metaphysically.
Meaning & Keywords are activation, initiation, innovation, breakthroughs, surprises. This is the moment of change that we’ve been knowingly or unknowingly been preparing for.
All we can do is surrender to the energy of it AND simultaneously work with it on an individual mind, body and spirit level in the way you know that you can and need to. Be aware of any denial, Uranus wil head straight to that place and activate it. Keep an open mind and keep moving and releasing.
Rick Levine shares “ Think cosmically and act locally”. The energy of this is being likened to that of a big ass wave, don’t fight the wave, engage the wave.
If you have any fixed signs in the degrees of 16-20 in your chart, you’ll feel this more so. Fixed signs: Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius and Taurus. But either way, we will all feel it, because it's just time.
August 1st: Lammas, Midsummer - Initial Harvest and abundance of seasonal foods.
Meaning: Gratitude, celebrate and share the abundance
August 7th - Mars in Taurus square Saturn in Aquarius (Retrograde)
Meaning: Overcoming barriers with steady patience
August 11th - Full Moon in Aquarius
Meaning: Embracing change on behalf of the all, practicing gratitude for community.
